Few foods are as attractive as wild mushrooms and Catalans are passionate about them. Sprouting up like magic after the rain, wild mushrooms have to be expertly and carefully hunted down. Our course consists of a mushroom hunting expedition, information on the features of different types of mushrooms and lessons on how to prepare them for the table.
FROM THE GARDEN TO THE KITCHEN
The garden provides us with a rather unusual ingredient: flowers. As well as adding colour to the table, flowers can serve as a surprise ingredient in dishes. On our course you will learn how to cultivate and harvest flowers and how to use them in your cooking.
BERGUEDÀ CUISINE
Catalan cuisine is the perfect synthesis of a huge variety of products and activities. The Berguedà, for example, is a geologically varied and highly diversified region, with unique foods and recipes, and full of history. The seasonal cooking courses on wild mushrooms and flowers are supplemented with insights into Berguedà cuisine of yesterday and today. The courses are very practical in approach and the dishes resulting from each session form part of the meals of the participants. Conxita Carreras and Sandro Aguilera are the course managers.
